Welcoming Vanessa Hajje
Here's a little bit more about Vanessa and her practice:
Vanessa Hajje has been treating patients in the healing arts since 1997. Initially, she began as a Massage Therapist and then became a certified Vinyasa yoga instructor.
Working with the body led Vanessa to Traditional Chinese Medicine, and in 2002 she attained a Masters degree from Emperor's College in Santa Monica, CA. Vanessa supports every patient's health and longevity through active listening, tailored diagnosis and treatment protocols, patient education, and nutritional and herbal therapy. Vanessa's mission is to provide professional and compassionate service to all who seek her help.
One of Vanessa's specialties is Auriculotherapy, a type of acupuncture that involves inserting needles or seeds into specific points on the ear. Stimulating these points promotes healing in other areas of the body. Auriculotherapy works for a number of reasons. One mechanism is that nerves from the ear connect with reflex centers in the brain. These neurological pathways send messages to the spinal cord and to the appropriate body area being targeted. Another way that ear acupuncture helps relieve pain and other symptoms is through releasing endorphins. Research has shown that the stimulation of ear points causes the systemic release of endorphins. Endorphins help create a sense of well-being and ease pain. Vanessa studied with Dr. Lichun Huang who is recognized as the world's top expert in the field of Auricular Medicine.
